Teacher Notes To start a map unit I would take
photographs of the block surrounding the school. I would then make a
map of area around the school. I would have the children fill in the
names of the streets. I would have the students for homework
describe how they got to school. They would have to include the
direction (N,S, W, E) they traveled.
Beach Ball Geography I used a beach ball that had a
map of the world on it. The first student would name a country and
pass the ball to another student who had to find that country...
