Cybrary Man's Seating Plan

How I assigned seats the first day of class

1. I would study the list of incoming students for the class. I did not want to seat together any of the students who had been in the same class the previous year. I checked their health records to see if any had hearing or sight issues. I would assign those students seats in the front of the room.

2. I would have a girl sitting next to a boy.

3. I gave each student a row letter and a seat number as I called roll on the first day.

4. I would then explain which row was which and how each seat was numbered in that row.

5. Then, I would tell them when I gave the signal they were to gather all their materials, stand up, push their chair in and proceed to their seat assignment. There was to be no talking during the move.

6. I also added that if they could not find their seat they were to stand in front of the room without making any noise.

7. After the class was seated I would help the "lost" students.

8. The students were instructed that if they did not like their new assignment they would have to write me a letter in the correct format explaining why they wanted their seat changed.

9. I also told the class that I had the right at any time to change their seat.
